item2 What is a cataract? item2
item2

A cataract is a clouding of the normally clear lens of the eye. Looking through a cloudy lens is like trying to see through a frosty or fogged-up window. This clouded vision can make it more difficult to read, drive a car or see the expression on a a person's face.

Cataracts are very common in older people. In fact, by the time they reach the age of 80, more than half of all Americans have had cataracts or cataract removal surgery.

Most cataracts develop slowly and, in the early stages, don't greatly disturb a person’s vision. Stronger lighting and eyeglasses can help counteract the vision changes. But as the clouding progresses, the cataract eventually interferes with vision to such an extent that surgery may be necessary. Fortunately, cataract removal is generally a safe, effective procedure.

Dr. Watkins has literally successfully completed thousands of cataract procedures that has restored vision to patients and improved countless lives.

iLASIK, the revolutionary ALL-LASER surgical solution endorsed by top medical experts and the US military and astronaut programs can help adults reduce or eliminate their dependence on glasses or contact lenses.
